Manhattan Town Center and Navy Federal Credit Union announced the winner of this year’s Operation Yellow Ribbon $500 shopping spree! 
This year’s winner is private first class Brett Crawford of Fort Riley, who says he heard about the opportunity during his first visit to the mall.
“Me and some guys were going to the movies and we were just walking through the mall and saw the booth,” Crawford said. “We went into Hot Topic and they said something about it, so we came back and looked at it.”
Crawford, who is originally from Marianna, Florida, says he hopes to use the money to buy his family gifts for Christmas.
“This is my first time in the mall,” Crawford said. “I’m going to probably go into a couple stores and get some Christmas gifts for my parents and my girl back home.”
