The monthly Kansas Board of Regents meeting on Dec. 14 included several items related to Kansas State University.
The Regents approved a three-year performance agreement for K-State. Receipt of new state funds is contingent upon meeting goals outlined in the performance agreement.
Proposed amendments to the credit by examination policy were approved. The policy changes require state universities to adopt standardized cut scores for awarding credit on College-Level Examination Program, or CLEP, and Advanced Placement, or AP, exams.
The Regents approved an interdisciplinary doctorate that involves the Staley School of Leadership Studies, communications and agricultural education and communication studies. The engaged research program will launch in fall 2018.
Final approval was given for housing and dining rates for the 2017-2018 academic year. K-State’s typical housing rate for the 2017-2018 academic year will increase by 2.8 percent ($65) and the typical dining rate will increase by a proposed 2.1 percent ($80).
Educational Building Funds for fiscal year 2018 rehabilitation and repair projects were approved by the Regents.
The following items were also approved for K-State:
- A request to complete conversion of the electrical distribution system.
- Amend the FY 2017 capital improvement plan and program statement for the Purebred Beef Unit.
- Amend the FY 2017 capital improvement plan and program statement for Phases IV and V of Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
K-State’s request to approve the settlement agreement of the James F. Lindley Trust estate to transfer ownership of remainder interest in real property to the KSU Charitable Real Estate Foundation was approved.
Regulation changes were approved regarding state university qualified admissions.
The Regents approved all proposed campus concealed carry policies for implementation on campuses beginning July 1, 2017.
