Peace Memorial Auditorium in downtown Manhattan is preparing to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor on Wednesday from 7 – 8:30 PM. The ceremony will include a brief history of the attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and origins of naming Peace Memorial Auditorium.
A music program designed to resemble a USO-type show is scheduled to follow, with Cadence, K-State Trio, Thundering Cats, Jammin’ Northstars, and Northview School Choir set to perform.
Naming for the auditorium in 1950s became WWII living memorial to honor the one-hundred-one Riley County men who died in the war.
