Downtown’s Blue Earth Plaza district will soon become a brilliant wonderland boasting the tallest tree in Kansas. The Fourth Annual lighting ceremony is on Friday, November 25th at 7pm. Come join Santa as he sets the plaza all aglow!
Thousands of lights will sparkle with color on Kansas’ tallest tree towering above the Blue Earth Plaza next to the Flint Hills Discovery Center. At nightfall, from November 25th and continuing through the New Year, a musical concert will be presented as the Plaza bursts into a synchronized light show with traditional holiday songs. The Blue Earth Plaza and surrounding area will be transformed in to a wonderland of lights. The music starts every 15 minutes beginning at 7pm.
Visitors can catch a horse drawn carriage ride that will travel through the Festival of Lights as well as Downtown Manhattan. Carriage rides will be available from 5pm to 8pm every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from December 5th-20th. Pick up/drop off for the carriage is at 3rd and Colorado, at the Flint Hills Discovery Center. Rides are free with a cash donation for the Wonder Workshop Children’s Museum.
The Festival is a family friendly event free to everyone. There will be free parking on site or in the conference center parking garage.
