The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
MANHATTAN, KAN. – Michael Agnew, 36, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on the offenses of failure to appear (X2) for which he was given “no bond.” These offenses were listed on warrants and caused Agnew to be confined at the time of this report.
Police filed a report for the offense of escape from custody on November 5, 2016, at approximately 10:20 PM after a 31-year-old female inmate (who was granted work release by the court system) did not return to the Riley County Jail at the time she was required to. Police do not have evidence to support the community being put in danger as a result of this investigation. At the time of this report, there was not an arrest associated with this investigation.
