The 1st Infantry Division is continuing its commitment to honoring our Vietnam-era veterans with a Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Ceremony Aug. 23 at Fort Riley. This will be the third ceremony honoring the 50th anniversary of the #VietnamWar, and veterans will be joined by active-duty Soldiers from the 1st Inf. Div. returning from deployments.

The ceremony is open to all veterans and the public is encouraged to attend. Veterans are asked to RSVP to 1st Lt. Stephanie Preekett at 785.240.3866 or by email at rileywelcomehome@gmail.com and to arrive at the ceremony location (Building 837 on Marshall Army Airfield near the Henry Gate) no later than 2:30 p.m.

Both veterans and visitors will need to be aware of current Fort Riley access guidelines, published in full at http://www.riley.army.mil/…/Emergency-Se…/Access-Information. Anyone entering Fort Riley who appears to be over the age of 16 is required to show a valid DoD ID Card, Riley Access Pass or Riley Access Badge. Visitors without a DoD ID card who wish to enter Fort Riley are reminded that a temporary Fort Riley Access Pass or Badge is required. If you know the exact date of your visit, it is highly recommended to get a temporary pass or badge early by stopping by the Visitor Control Center.
