MANHATTAN, KAN. – Officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Tristen Garner, 20, of Junction City, Kansas on August 19, 2016 at approximately 5:00 PM. Garner was arrested on a warrant for the offenses of criminal use of a financial card and making false information (X2). He was given a bond of $13,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. This warrant stemmed from incidents in April and May of 2016 that occurred in Riley County, Kansas.
Police filed a report for the offense of burglary and criminal damage to property in the 700 block of Dondee Drive on August 19, 2016 at approximately 7:30 AM. Officers found that a 2007 Dodge Caliber was damaged while parked and unattended. Items were removed from the vehicle after the passenger side window was broken out. One item removed from the vehicle was listed as an orange Coach handbag. The total estimated loss and damage was $715.00 and currently suspect(s) are unknown. The victim in this investigation was listed as Amber Tinsley, 22, of Manhattan. Police are currently seeking information on this crime which likely occurred on August 19, 2016 between 2:00 AM and 6:30 AM.
Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report for and are now investigating an aggravated robbery and sexual battery which occurred on August 20, 2016 at approximately 3:05 AM in the area of 500 block of Osage Street in Manhattan. The crime was reported to police on August 20, 2016 at approximately 8:00 PM and due to the nature of this crime the victim’s information has been withheld. Police were told that the 24-year-old male victim was approached by an unknown suspect who was approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighed approximately 220 pounds with possibly a red shirt. The suspect in this case is a black male with black hair and brown eyes and his age is unknown. This suspect upon his approach inappropriately touched the victim in the groin which initiated a physical struggle. Police were told that the victim ran from the area when he saw what was believed to be a knife. Taken during the struggle was US currency and 2 financial cards. Stephanie McGrath, 36, of Ogden, Kansas was arrested while in the 2300 block of Stagg Hill Road in Manhattan on August 20, 2016 at approximately 10:50 PM. McGrath was arrested on the offenses of possession of methamphetamine and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. She was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. This arrest stemmed from a traffic stop for a traffic violation.
Joshua Rookstool, 20, of Ogden, Kansas was arrested on August 20, 2016 at approximately 11:20 PM. Rookstool was arrested while in the 2300 block of Stagg Hill Road on a warrant for the offenses of probation violation (X2). He was given a bond of $10,000.00 through Clay County District Court. He was confined at the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
A report for motor vehicle theft was filed in the 300 block of 9th Street in Manhattan on August 21, 2016 at approximately 2:00 PM. Police found that Marissa Galindo, 22, of Manhattan had become the victim of this crime when a white 2009 Toyota Camry was removed from the area without her permission. Officers listed Paul Meyer, 20, of Manhattan as the victim in an investigation into theft of property or services which began on August 21, 2016 at approximately 8:30 AM (the crime occurred between August 18, 2016 and August 21, 2016). Meyer became the victim of this crime when a silver and black 2015 Yamaha moped was removed while left parked and unattended.
