The finals of the girl’s competition in the 2016 Hoop Holler N’ Shoot contest were held during half time of Tuesday’s KSU men’s game against Prairie View A&M.
Participants won their way into the finals via shoot offs conducted at Manhattan area elementary schools among 5th and 6th grade students. Over 870 students participated in the competition.
The winners and the schools they represent are as follows:
1st Amelia Knopp, Amanda Arnold – hitting 6 out of 7
2nd Maura Wiens, Lee – hitting 5 out of 7
3rd Mckenzie Reid, Woodrow Wilson – hitting 1 out of 7
4th Allyssa Ingram, Bluemont – hitting 1 out of 7
Both Allyssa and Mckenzie participated in a shoot off to determine the 3rd place winner.
Prizes awarded to all finalists included a plaque and a K-State autographed Hoop Holler N’Shoot t-shirt.
