GEARY COUNTY – Formal charges were filed this week against the suspect accused in the crash that killed a Junction City mother and two children.

Steven Johnson, 42, Houston, is scheduled for a return to court on January 12th, according to Geary County Attorney Steve Opat.

He faces three counts of involuntary manslaughter, plus one each of DUI and improper driving on a laned roadway.

Johnson was the driver of an Eastbound truck on Interstate 70 near Grandview Plaza that traveled across the Interstate median into the westbound lanes and hit a Ford 500 driven by 26-year-old Jessica Michelle Thompson of Junction City.
