This year’s kick off to the 2016-2017 academic year will feature a charge from Jodi Kaus, director of Powercat Financial Counseling. Remarks will be provided from Kourtney Bettinger and Clemente Jaquez, the K-State Alumni Association’s 2016 Distinguished Young Alumni award recipients; Jack Nolte, Mikaela Flax and Rachel Haskell, undergraduate students representing Mortar Board, Chimes and Silver Key honor societies, respectively; and Greg Eiselein, Donnelly professor of English, university distinguished teaching scholar and director of K-State First.
The convocation begins with a prelude by the Faculty Brass Quintet and concludes with the alma mater. Interim President Gen. Richard Myers and Provost and Senior Vice President April C. Mason will preside and be joined by members of the President’s Cabinet, Council of Deans and Student Governing Association leaders.
The program welcomes new undergraduate students to Kansas State University. The kickoff picnic and pep rally follow immediately in Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
