Manhattan prepares for annual Veterans Day parade

Join the Manhattan community’s celebration of our military veterans and observe the annual Veteran’s Day Parade along Poyntz Avenue. Show appreciation for veterans’ service and current military.

This year’s theme: “Home of the Free, Because of the Brave”; includes 1st Infantry Division soldiers, 1st Division Band and veterans organizations.

Veterans Day Information 2016
7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Veterans Day Breakfast
American Legion Hall, Post 17, 114 McCall Road.
Free to all Veterans
Sponsored by: the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus
8:00 a.m. Inaugural Flag Raising
Flint Hills Center, corner of Houston and 4th Streets
8:00 a.m. Parade Line in the staging area for those that have
applied for parade entrance and received approval in the
SE parking lot of the Manhattan Town Center.If you’d like
to join the parade but haven’t applied, click on the link at
the bottom of the page application and submit it as soon
as possible.
9:00 a.m. State and Territorial Flag Display – City Hall,
1101 Poyntz, Avenue, Manhattan
9:30 a.m. Veterans Day Honor Parade. Starting at the Manhattan
Town Center with a review in front of City Hall, and ends
at 14th St.
11:00 a.m. Commemorative Program
Peace Memorial Auditorium
Guest speaker Lt General Perry Wiggins (Ret)
6:00 p.m. Veterans Day Recognition Honors Banquet
