4 hospitalized after driver falls asleep on I-70

WABAUNSEE COUNTY— Four people were injured in an accident just before 8a.m. Sunday in Wabaunsee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Chevy Impala driven by Angelica Lee Lynch, 37, Sedalia, was eastbound on Interstate 70 one mile east of Kansas 99.

The driver fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle left the roadway on the south side. The driver over corrected and the vehicle re-entered the roadway. The driver again over corrected and the vehicle left the roadway to the south again, struck the embankment and overturned.

Lynch and passengers Brandon Michael Lynch, 18; Erica Javonta Grant, 29; and Timothy Linell Peck, 29, all of Sedalia, were transported to the hospital in Topeka. Only the driver was wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
