Hoop Holler N’ Shoot free throw contest finalists set

The boys and girls finalists were determined Monday at Bramlage Coliseum in the 2018 Hoop Holler N’ Shoot free throw contest. Four girls from a field of eleven in each division go on to shoot in the finals of the girl’s competition on December 5th at the K-State vs. Lamar women’s game.

The four finalists are:

Girls Division

 Lily Bahr, Manhattan Catholic, 5th grade…hitting 4 of 7 shots.
 Aryana De-Leon, Flint Hills Christian, 6th grade…hitting 3 of 7 shots.  Kamryn Lemman, Woodrow Wilson, 6th grade…hitting 3 of 7 shots.  Kaitlyn Lagabed, Lee, 6th grade…hitting 3 of 7 shots.

Other girl school champions that did not make the cut for finals are:  Hayden Gaither, Bluemont
 Jada Dibbini, Theodore Roosevelt
 Kamryn Machor, Northview

 Mia Hamm, Marlatt
 Bentley Greim, Bergman
 Allie Smith, Amanda Arnold  Zakyia Reed, Ogden

Boy’s Division Finalists

 Luke Ethridge, Woodrow Wilson, 6th grade…hitting 4 of 7 shots.
 Max Steffensmeier, Lee, 6th grade…hitting 4 of 7 shots.
 Sam Spiegel, Theodore Roosevelt, 6th grade…hitting 4 of 7 shots.
 Braden Brockman, Manhattan Catholic, 6th grade…hitting 4 of 7 shots.

Other boy school champions that did not make the cut for finals are:  Landon Knopp, Amanda Arnold
 Caiden McHugh, Bergman
 Jayden Demercurio, Ogden

 Everett Freeman, Bluemont
 Jude Say, Marlatt
 Johnny Brown, Flint Hills Christian  Jackson Powers, Northview

Hoop Holler N’ Shoot, a program of the Little Apple Optimist Club, is a free throw contest for 5th and 6th graders in the Manhattan area grade schools. A boy and girl champion is determined at each school. The grade school champions move onto the semi-finals and finals held at Kansas State University basketball games. Over 975 students participated in the school competitions.
