MidFest, Manhattan Kansas’ biggest one-day music festival, is Saturday, June 23 at The Bluemont Hotel. In its third year, the festival has expanded to include more than 40 music, comedy, and dance acts from a multitude of genres on three stages. Festival goers will be treated to local favorites and regional acts in a variety of flavors beginning at 11:30 a.m. Before the day is over Wayne Goins & Rick Smith will bring the blues, Sally and the Hurts and Grateful Dudes will serve up folk music, Terror Tractor will show off their thrash metal, Miztuh Chazs will rap his way into your soul, and audiences will witness the stylings of the Wakim Jazz Trio featuring recent K-State graduates. Bands from Lawrence, Kansas City and Wichita make this festival a celebration of Kansas musicians with Dylan Guthrie & The Good Time Guys (Lawrence,) Vigil and Thieves (Kansas City,) and MariaElena (Wichita).
Early Bird tickets are discounted to only $15 online at www.midfestmhk.com . Tickets at the door on the day of the event will be $20. Ticket holders have access to all stages, showcases and official after parties.
Following the main event, ticket holders will head to MidFest Official After Parties at Aunties Mae’s and RC McGraw’s starting at 10 p.m. keeping the music festival going into the night. Non-festival ticket holders can still enjoy the after parties for a $5 cover charge at the door.
