GEARY COUNTY — One person was injured in an accident just before 10a.m. Wednesday in Geary County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Acura driven by Dakota Ryan Zimmerman, 26, Topeka, was eastbound on Interstate 70 at East Street.
The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and the driver could not negotiate the curve. The vehicle’s left tires entered the median and the driver over-corrected to the right.
The vehicle crossed both eastbound lanes of traffic and traveled down into the south ditch where it over turned several times into the tree line.
Zimmerman was transported to Geary County Hospital. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
