Riley County Arrests September 30

The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – Officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested David Younger, 35, of Manhattan while at the Riley County Police Department on September 29, 2016, at approximately 8:05 PM. Younger was arrested for the offensercpd of aggravated battery and given a bond of $5,000.00. At the time of this report he was not confined at the Riley County Jail. This warrant arrest stems from an incident in September 2016.

The Riley County Police Department filed a report for the offense of criminal discharge of a firearm in the 400 block of N. 10th Street in Manhattan on September 28, 2016, at approximately 8:00 PM. This report was filed after police were told of an incident that involved a neglegent discharge of a firearm in an apartment building. At the time of this report no arrests had been made or citations issued as officers continue to investigate the matter. No injuries were sustained.

Police in Riley County are investigating a theft of tools in Manhattan in the 1400 block of Fort Riley Blvd. This crime is likely to have occurred on September 27, 2016 and involved approximately $5,200.00 worth of tools that include an air ratchet, compressor, and socket set. Police listed Lewis Gandy, 23, of Junction City, Kansas as the victim in this investigation.
