The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
MANHATTAN, KAN. – Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report for the offense of theft in the 2600 block of Claflin Road in Manhattan on September 28, 2016, at approximately 2:50 PM. Police listed Nevada Gray, 26, of Manhattan as the victim in this investigation when a yellow labrador retriever was removed from a chain in his backyard sometime during the day. Currently, suspect(s) are unknown and police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. The dog is listed as being approximately 5 years old with a bright yellow collar and responds to the name “Honey.”
Ryan Jensen, 27, of Manhattan was arrested for the offense of probation violation which was listed on a warrant with an original offense of vehicle burglary. Jensen was given a bond of $5,000.00 after being arrested in the 1100 block of Fremont Street in Manhattan on September 28, 2016, at approximately 5:40 PM. At the time of this report, Jensen was confined at the Riley County Jail.
Keron Colbert, 21, of Junction City, Kansas was arrested on September 28, 2016, at approximately 11:45 PM while at the Riley County Police Department. Colbert was arrested on the offense of theft by deception and given a bond of $10,000.00. He was not confined at the time of this report. This arrest stems from an investigation in February 2016.
RCPD arrested Joshua Chamberlin, 27, of Paxico, Kansas on September 28, 2016, at approximately 11:30 PM. Chamberlin was arrested on the offense of failure to appear which was listed on a warrant from Saline County, Kansas. He was given “no bond” and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.
