MANHATTAN— Law enforcement authorities are investigating two instances of theft by deception at local banks.
Just after 4p.m. Tuesday, officers filed four reports for theft by deception at Kansas State Bank in the 1000 block of Westloop Pl. in Manhattan. A known male suspect withdrew money that was not his, according to the RCPD activity report. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $20,000.00.
Just before 1p.m. Tuesday, officers filed a report for giving worthless check, forgery, making false information and theft by deception at United Bank, in the 2000 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd., according to police. A known female suspect deposited bad checks into her account then spent the money. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,970.00.
Police did release names of the suspects.
