Riley County Arrests September 22

The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –  Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report for the offense of burglary to a vehicle in the 1400 Cambridge Place in Manhattan on September 21, 2016 at approximately 9:20 AM. This crime is likely to have occurred during the overnight hours prior. Police listed Tamara Matagi, 21, of Manhattan as the victim after a Playstation 3 with wireless controllers, athletic shoes, a television, and jewelry were removed from her vehicle. The total estimated loss was listed as being $2,395.00 and currently suspects are unknonw. Heather Spiller, 36, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on September 21, 2016 at approximately 1:50 PM. Spiller was arrested on a warrant for the offense of failure to appear with “no bond” (original offense was listed as possession of marijuana). She was confined at the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

Paul Olberg, 50, of Junction City, Kansas was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on September 21, 2016 at approximately 9:45 PM. Olberg was arrested on offenses including burglary, theft, and making false information. He was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report he was confined at the Riley County Police Department.
