MANHATTAN – Chief Judge Meryl Wilson announced today that beginning January 2, 2018, the Riley County Courthouse and the clerk of court’s office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every weekday except holidays.

“We believe this change will benefit the people of Riley County who need access to the court outside of traditional business hours,” Wilson said. “That extra 30 minutes at the beginning and end of the day may make a big difference to someone who needs to get in before or after work to file a document, make a payment on a court case, or to get a marriage license.”

The expanded hours affect only the courthouse and the clerk’s office. Judge offices and the court services office will continue to be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The court also will continue to hear cases between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Clay County Courthouse, which is in the 21st Judicial District with Riley County, is not included in this change.
