The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
MANHATTAN, KAN. – Derek Shepard, 31, of Ogden, Kansas was arrested while in the 400 block of 15th Street in Ogden on August 3, 2016 at approximately 11:05 PM. Shepard was arrested on the offense of failure to appear (X2) with an original offense of domestic battery. He was given a bond of $9,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.
Police in the 3000 block of Brookville Drive arrested Kareem Rex, 38, of Manhattan on the offenses of domestic battery, criminal restraint, and criminal deprivation of property. Rex was given a bond of $6,000.00 and at the time of this report he was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail. This arrest stemmed from a verbal and then physical argument between Rex and a 35-year-old female victim. Injuries were listed as being minor.
