POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY —The United States Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol, has formed a squadron in Pottawatomie/Riley County.
The Civil Air Patrol provides emergency services, aerospace education and cadet programs.
Nationally, over 55,000 unpaid volunteers perform CAP missions in their communities.
The Konza Composite Squadron, the new unit has operated as a detachment of the Flint Hills Composite Squadron, Junction City, for eighteen months.
Meetings are conducted Wednesday evenings from seven to nine at General Richard B. Myers Hall, on the KSU Campus.
LtCol Roger Eaton commands the squadron which includes members from Wamego, Maple Hill and Manhattan. CAP has been performing mission for America for the past seventy-five years. Go to the web site for additional details.
