Riley County Arrests November 30

The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for theft in the 800 block of S Seth Child Rd in Manhattan on November 29, 2017 at approximately 12:50 AM. Officers listed Petsmart as the victim when it was reported the business was scammed out of money by an unknown suspect by requesting prepaid giftcard information. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,684.00. Police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
Clifford Swarthout Jr. was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on November 29, 2017 at approximately 12:25 PM. Swarthout Jr. was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear. Swarthout Jr. was issued no bond causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for burglary in the 1001 block of N 8th St. in Manhattan on November 29, 2017 at approximately 4:00 PM. Officers listed Bryce Nickelson, 22, of Manhattan as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took his backpack containing a laptop and miscellanous school supplies. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,225.00. Police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
Troy Huser, 53, of Manhattan, as arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on November 29, 2017 at approximately 5:00 PM. Huser was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for aggravated intimidation of a witness criminal threat, and domestic battery. Huser was issued a bond of $5,000. Huser was not confined at the time of this report.
Dereck Williams, 24, of Junction City, Kansas was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on November 29, 2017 at approximately 7:10 PM. Williams was arrested on two Riley County District Court warrants for probation violation. Williams’ total bond was set at $22,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for aggravated robbery in the 800 block of Osage St. in Manhattan on November 29, 2017 at approximately 11:50 PM. Officers listed Scott Howard, 23, of Manhattan and Jimmy Johns as the victims when it was reported two known male suspects punched and kicked the victim and then took money belonging to the business from the victim. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $15.00. Timothy Escamilla, 21, of Fort Riley, Kansas was arrested in connection while at the Riley County Police Department on charges of robbery and aggravated robbery. Escamilla’s bond was set at $60,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report. Shakeem Bispham, 19, of Fort Riley, Kansas was also arrested in connection while at the Riley County Police Department on charges of robbery and aggravated robbery. Bispham’s bond was st at $60,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for robbery in the 2200 block of College Ave. in Manhattan on November 30, 2017 at approximately 1:30 AM. Officers listed Devin Rand, 21, of Manhattan and Domino’s as the victims when it was reported two known male suspects took money from the victim which belonged to the business. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $14.00. Timothy Escamilla, 21, of Fort Riley, Kansas was arrested in connection while at the Riley County Police Department on charges of robbery and aggravated robbery. Escamilla’s bond was set at $60,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report. Shakeem Bispham, 19, of Fort Riley, Kansas was also arrested in connection while at the Riley County Police Department on charges of robbery and aggravated robbery. Bispham’s bond was st at $60,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.
