Riley County Arrests November 20

The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for aggravated battery (domestic) in Manhattan on Novmeber 17, 2017 at at approximately 10:15 AM. Officers listed a 22 year old female as the victim and a 29 year old male as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.
Officers filed a report for burglary at an unknown location on November 17, 2017 at approximately 5:15 PM. Officers listed Caleb Kothmann, 30, of Manhattan, as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took his Smith and Wesson 9MM pistol from his vehicle. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for burglary in the 1000 block of McDowell Creek Rd. on November 17, 2017 at approximately 5:40 PM. Officers listed Gregory Morgan, 58, of Manhattan, as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect broke in to his home and took his Glock 36 handgun, knives, an iPad and a money. Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 800 block of Commons Pl. on November 18, 2017 at approximately 11:55 AM. Officers listed Lori McDiffett, 46, of Manhattan and Mickey McDiffett, 55, of Manhattan as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect scratched their vehicle. Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of E Bluemont Ave. on November 18, 2017 at approximately 7:40 PM. Officers listed Walmart as the victim when it was reported two unknown suspects took electronics and other miscellanous items. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,486.00. Officers filed a report for criminal use of a financial card and theft by deception in the 300 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. on November 19, 2017 at approximately 6:20 PM. Officers listed Tracey Debruyn, 66, of Manhattan as the victim when she reported an unknown suspect used her financial card without her permission. Officers filed a report for aggravated battery in the 6000 block of Tuttle Terr. in Manhattan on November 19, 2017 at approximately 11:10 PM. Officers listed Ruben Castillo, 28, of Manhattan as the victim when it was reported a known male suspect hit him.
