Riley County Arrests November 6

The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on November 3, 2017. Officers listed a 15 year old female as the victim when it was reported a 14 year old male known to her raped her. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.
Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 2600 block of Butterfield Road in Manhattan on November 3, 2017 at approximately 4:10 PM. Officers listed Richard Bryant, 65, of Manhattan and Cynthia Bryant, 61, of Manhattan, as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect spray painted the victim’s vehicle. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for aggravated assault near the intersection of North 11th St. and Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on November 4, 2017 at approximately 2:05 AM. Officers listed Kirsten Burger, 19, of Manhattan, as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect pointed a gun at the vehicle the victim was in. Police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for commercial sexual exploitation of a child in Manhattan on November 4, 2017. Officers listed the State of Kansas and a 17 year old female as the victims and a 32 year old male as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.
Anthony Johnson, 32, of Junction City, Kansas, was arrested in the 1000 block of Houston St. in Manhattan on November 4, 2017 at approximately 2:30 AM. Johnson was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia times two, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon, defacing identification marks on a fiream, criminal trespass, criminal damage to property, felony theft, felony flee and elude law enforcement, felony interference with law enforcement and driving while revoked. Johnson’s total bond was set at $32,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 200 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard in Manhattan on November 5, 2017 at approximately 12:10 AM. Officers listed Denny’s as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged a bathroom stall. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Bryan Stebbins, 22, of Manhattan, was arrested in the 800 block of Allison Avenue in Manhattan on November 22, 2017 at approximately 8:35 AM. Stebbins was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stebbins total bond was set at $7,500.00. Stebbins was not confined at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report for theft in the 3000 block of Anderson Avenue on November 5, 2017 at approximately 2:20 PM. Officers listed Matthew Hanson, 54, of Manhattan as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took his black diamonback resolve bicycle. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
