The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 200 block of S 4th St. in Manhattan on November 1, 2017 at approximately 8:20 AM. Officers listed the Kansas Department of Commerce as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged the victim’s vehicle with a concrete rock. The total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Police ask that anyone with information contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 500 block of N 3rd Place in Manhattan on November 1, 2017 at approximately 11:35 AM. Officers listed Navy Federal Credit Union as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took a security camera from the business. Officers filed a report for vehicle burglary in the 100 block of Bird Dog Drive in Riley, Kansas, on November 1, 2017 at approximately 9:50 PM. Officers listed Tanner Gleason, 29, of Riley, Kansas, as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took a gun, ammunition and a holster from the victim’s vehicle. Officers filed a report for sexual exploitation of a child in Manhattan on November 1, 2017. Officers listed a 16 year old female and a 17 year old male as the victims and a known 18 year old male as the suspect. Due to the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released.
