Riley County Arrests September 8

The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – Police arrested Clarence Douglas III, 49, of Manhattan on September 7, 2016 at approximately 4:20 PM while at the Riley County Police Department. Douglas was arrested on a warrant for the offense of probation violation which had “no bond.” This warrant originated in Saline County, Kansas and at the time of this report Douglrcpdas was confined at the Riley County Jail.

Brian Covert, 44, of Manhattan was arrested while in the 400 block of Leavenworth Street in Manhattan on September 7, 2016 at approximately 4:45 PM. Covert was arrested on a warrant for the offense of failure to appear with a bond of $30,000.00 originating in Clay County, Kansas. At the time of this report he was confined at the Riley County Jail.

Officers with the Riley County Police Department are investigating a report of sexual exploitation of a child in the city limits of Manhattan, Kansas. This investigation began on September 7, 2016 and due to the ongoing nature of this investigation no further information was available to release at the time of this report.

RCPD arrested Leann Blancho, 31, listed as homeless while in the 300 block of N. Seth Child Road in Manhattan on September 8, 2016 at approximately 12:05 AM.  Blancho was arrested on the offense of probation violation which was listed on a warrant with a bond of $5,000.00. This warrant had an original offense of possession of methamphetamine. At the time of this report she was confined at the Riley County Jail.
