The Defense Commissary Agency, or DeCA, has selected 700 sons and daughters
of military commissary customers to receive a $2,000 grant from the
Scholarships for Military Children program.
The program, created in 2001, recognizes the contributions of military families to the
readiness of the fighting force and celebrates the commissary’s role in enhancing military quality
of life. It’s administered by Fisher House Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides
assistance to service members and their families.
Locally, three Fort Riley students were chosen to receive grants. Fort Riley
recipients and their parents/sponsors include:
Nicholas S. Dombrowski, sponsored by Mark Dombrowski;
Jasmine M. Barry, sponsored by Justin Barry;
Naomi I Shultz, sponsored by Hyang Shultz.
