A Flint Hills-themed large indoor play area geared toward young children will open to the public this Friday at Manhattan Town Center in downtown Manhattan.
The Tooth Story Children’s Play Area will feature five local elements for children to enjoy, including a bison climber, Humvee slide, Little Apple tunnel, football helmet cave and sunflower climber inside of a 20’ x 30’ enclosure. The play area is surrounded by soft seating inside the enclosure and boasts a soft cushioned flooring for kids to enjoy.
“We are thrilled to partner with the local children’s dentistry team at Tooth Story to bring a climate controlled, year-round play area to the greater Manhattan area,” said Brad Simonsson, Manhattan Town Center general manager. “This is something that parents of young children will be able to enjoy for years to come!”
The grand opening event for the Tooth Story Children’s Play Area will be held Friday, July 7 from 1 to 2 p.m. and include activities for kids like free airbrush painting, cookies, cupcakes, and prizes. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. that day.
Later in July, Manhattan Town Center will host the Kaw Valley Junior Rodeo on July 15, the Riley County 4-H Fashion Show on July 20, and the annual summer sidewalk sale July 27-30 during the Riley County Fair.
