Residents visiting Manhattan’s Municipal Court over the next few months will see changes to the entrance and security as part of a security improvement project.
Beginning today, those visiting the court will need to use the entrance on the east side of the building. The north entrance will be closed through the duration of the construction project, which is expected to be complete in September.
Beginning July 1, court visitors are encouraged to enter the court without bags or purses because they will be subject to search by security officers. When the project is complete, court visitors will pass through an x-ray machine and metal detector monitored by the officers.
