The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
MANHATTAN, KAN. – Larry Anumodu, 24, of Fort Riley, Kansas was arrested on August 29, 2016 at approximately 3:55 PM while in the 200 block of Custer Ave. in Fort Riley. Anumodu was arrested on the offense of rape and given a bond of $100,000.00 which caused him to be confined at the time of this report. This arrest stemmed from an investigation that began in August 2016.
RCPD arrested Jamar Simms, 21, of Spencer, Oklahoma while in the 1600 block of Charles Place in Manhattan on August 29, 2016 at approximately 10:30 AM. Police arrested Simms on a warrant from Oklahoma County, Oklahoma with an offense of murder (X2). He was given “no bond” and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail pending extradition.
Police arrested Mark Hecker, 20, of Louisville, Kansas while in the 1400 block of Anderson Ave. on August 29, 2016 at approximately 3:50 PM. Hecker was arrested on the offense of failure to appear which was listed on a warrant with an original offense of aggravated battery. He was given a bond of $7,500.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.
